India’s legendary cricketer Sachin Tendulkar would turn singer for Swachh Bharat Mission anthem song that would be release on October 2, 2015 on Mahatma Gandhi’s birth anniversary.

A spokesperson of Indian government on Monday said that Sachin Tendulkar would sing in the Swachh Bharat Mission anthem song whose video is produced by Mukesh Bhatt.

“Besides reciting few lines in the Swachh Bharat Mission anthem song, Sachin Tendulkar has also provided various suggestions for the song during its recording,” the spokesperson said.

He said that the anthem song has been written by lyricist Prasoon Joshi and the musical trio Shankar-Ehsan-Loy has given music for the song. The anthem song is sung by Shankar Mahadevan and other playback singers and it would also feature a video being produced by Mukesh Bhatt.

“”The audio of the song is expected to be released on the eve of Mahatma Gandhi’s birth anniversary on October 2, 2015,” the spokesperson said.

He said that various celebrities have responded enthusiastically to the Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s call for a ‘Jan Andolan’ to make the Swachh Bharat Mission successful.

“With this objective, these celebrities have come together to create a Swachh Bharat Anthem aimed at enthusing and inspiring citizens to join hands in realizing the collective dream of a ‘clean India’,” he added.
