Mumbai court acquits veteran actor Dilip Kumar in cheque bounce case

A Mumbai court on Tuesday acquitted veteran actor Dilip Kumar in 18 year old cheque bounce case that was filed by Deccan Cements.

As per reports, the Girgaum Court (Mumbai) Metropolitan Magistrate B S Kharade acquitted the veteran actor Dilip Kumar in the decades old cheque bounce case.

It is pertinent to mention here that the cheque bounce case pertains to G K Exim India Pvt Ltd company of Kolkata in which the 94-year-old actor was director in 1998.

The Deccan Cements has reportedly invested Rs one crore in the company and the time of return of the investment, the compaany in which Dilip Kumar was director had issued two cheques that had bounced.

The Deccan Cements company had filed a case against the legendary Bollywood actor under section 138 of Negotiable Instruments Act and he appeared in the court.

Earlier in the day, veteran Bollywood actor’s wife Saira Bano had given tweeted about the case and had said, ‘From Saira Banu: Breaks my heart to inform @TheDilipKumar fans. tomm, Tuesday, 18-yr-old court case in which Saab has been associated, will be up for judgement hearing at 14 Met. Magistrate court, Girgaum, presided by Hon. Magistrate BS Kharade…’

‘At 94 yrs, Saab’s health is delicate, facing neurological problems, yet Saab has never prayed for case adjournment. Hope serious consternation n stress caused don’t affect his condition further. Saab needs peace n rest. I seek your prayers n support’, she tweeted.
