Kashmir Valley : Security forces gunned down 3 militants

As many as three militants have been gunned down by the security forces in Kashmir valley. The encounter took place in Budgam district of Jammu and Kashmir on Thursday, when the security forces received an input that the militants were hiding in the area. The three militants who were killed on Thursday in a gun fight with security forces are believed to have connections with Pakistan based militant group.

Sources said that as they closed in on the hiding militants, the security forces were fired upon triggering the encounter. Authorities had suspended Internet services in the district to prevent spread of rumours. Meanwhile, a soldier was injured on Thursday in an ongoing encounter between security forces and terrorists in Sopore area of Baramulla district.
The security forces launched the search operation at Sagipora village after getting a tip-off of the terrorists’ hideout. The terrorists fired at the search party of the security forces, who retaliated.
