HP Industries Minister demands ESI Hospital at Gagret and Sansarpur Terrace

Industries Minister Bikram Singh requested Union Minister for Commerce and Industry Suresh Prabhu to open an ESI Hospital at Gagret and Sansarpur Terrace in order to provide good health facilities to industrial workers and local population in the areas.

He called on the Union Minister at New Delhi today.

He apprised the Union Minister that Gagret was a part of industrial chain of Amb, Gagret Tahliwal Mehatpur hosting about 36 units of production across micro small and medium enterprises, medium scale and large scale industries hosting more than 250 units of production. He said that 15000 workers were employed in this area who have to visit Chandigarh for medical facilities. Similarly, 30 industrial establishments with more than 3000 workers were in Sansarpur Terrace area besides many private establishments and a population of 35000 people from 30 panchayats. He requested to set up a minimum 50 bedded ESI hospital to provide social security and health services to the workers as well as poor persons of the area.

Bikram Singh requested to provide special package for industries being set up under ‘Make in Himachal ‘programme introducing certain performance related incentives for new industries and existing ones on substantial expansion such as Central Freight Subsidy, Central Capital Investment Subsidy as per scheme notified in 2013, Reimbursement of 50 percent CGST, Interest Subsidy on term loans and working capital and income tax concessions.

He also urged for speedy formulation of a package of incentives, concessions and facilities for boosting economic development in the industrial sector in Himachal Pradesh. He said that state had witnessed rapid progress in 2003 due to package given by the NDA Government as investment and employment increased by 88% and 56% respectively.
